The Wayback Machine — Einstein and the Electricity Designs

Tesla really was the guy. It wasn’t until recently that I realized Tesla should have been my electricity crush rather than Einstein or Edison.

Nikolai Tesla

I’m drawn to Einstein because he had a sense of humor. It wasn’t just that he was smart — because he was. He was funny as well as smart. And he liked women. How could you go wrong with that?

You have to have a lot of admiration for the genius Einstein possessed, and the good fortune he had to get out of Germany early. If he hadn’t, things would be very different in the world. We can’t even contemplate how much the world would have been impacted if he hadn’t gotten out. I often think of that.

Benjamin Franklin is another favorite of mine. I would love to be stuck in an elevator with both Franklin and Einstein. Or go out to drinks with them, with Marilyn Monroe along for just for fun.

Designing a jacket with a wonderful saying inside. . .I thought it would be fun. Inside the jacket it reads “Talent is like electricity. We don’t understand electricity. We use it.” People take things like electricity, the telephone, plenty of inventions and discoveries made over the last one hundred years as givens. But these are relatively new discoveries.

I hope the person who wears the jacket gives a thought to the great people who made life possible or impossible today.
